Seasons 1-8 will see shippers make bids on two of the shipments listed on the uShip website. It is an auction reverse structure. Bids are typically accompanied by remarks about the potential risk and cost and their motives and abilities. If the time-limit of an auction has expired it is generally attributable to the bidder who has the lowest bid and at the discretion of the client however, it could be given to a bidder with a better average feedback rating from previous customers. If the bidder is lowest there will be a tie dissolved by the feedback rating. Season 9 sees shippers receiving their loads through a shipping agent. The bidding process isn’t documented. Shippers load their cargos and try to get it delivered in good order by the deadline set by the recipient or the client. Once the cargo has been delivered, customers provide feedback ratings. Every shipper's earnings and costs (fuel, labor and late-delivery penalties) will be displayed on the screen at the conclusion. The amount of the bid is subtracted to calculate the total loss and profit. Sometimes, shippers will offer to carry additional loads as part of the same journey. This extra amount is then added into the total. The shipper may not be able to complete the job due to safety issues or load size. Sometimes, one of the shippers will contract the help of a different shipper to finish a task. The shippers decide how they will split profits. The process of each shipment is interrupted by humorous comments from other shippers during seasons 1-8.
