Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children who would grow up in the same household, understood very young the way to conquer of the challenges she encountered by using her rich and vibrant imagination. Prior to learning how to read and compose the first song she ever composed, she was composing herself with her own songs. She got her first guitar at age 8 and began her singing career on an Knoxville Tenn radio station at 11 years old. The same year, she released her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. In high school, she garnered a name in the local music scene but longed to be on a bigger stage. After she finished her high school, in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated show on TV was at the time looking for a singer in his show. Parton took the job in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. Then, in 1974, she left The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her individual songs, such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You in honor of Wagoner following their split. It reached no. The first time it made it to the top spot was in 1974.
